Who regulates the sale and commercialization of cannabis?

In California, the regulation and sale of cannabis are governed by the Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (MAUCRSA). Regulations are adopted and enforced by the Bureau of Cannabis Control, the California Department of Food and Agriculture (and the subdivision called CalCannabis Cultivation Licensing), and the California Department of Public Health’s Manufactured Cannabis Safety Branch (MCSB). Cannabis licensing in Los Angeles is handled by the Department of Cannabis Regulation.
